On July 30, 2026, there a special meeting had with State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC) and the Sri Lanka Chamber of Medical Devices Industry (SLCMDI). -State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC) is represented on the discussion table by Dr. Indika Wanninayake, Chairman; Mr. R A U Ranaweera, Managing Director; Mrs. M R Nimmika Thushari, DGM Procurement & Imports; Mr. M. R.M. Rifkhan, Manager Imports; and Mr. Samantha Senevirathne and Dr. Ranga Jayakody, representing SLCMDI.
SPC indicated during the conversation that it would be very interested in working closely with SLMDI on the upcoming SPC Suppliers’ Conference.
The engagement of the proposed subcommittee with SLMDI through initial conversations on the major issues encountered by stakeholders was one of the main areas of focus. Such previous engagement, according to SPC, would facilitate a more fruitful and goal-oriented discussion during the conference.
In light of this, SPC suggest that SLMDI start creating a thorough information sheet well in advance and solicit feedback from our members regarding the important topics and top concerns that ought to be presented to the subcommittee. And carry on our conversation about how to effectively highlight the Chamber’s stakeholder engagement and public relations initiatives. The SPC Management expressed a strong desire to learn more about the Chamber’s operations and its wider role in the healthcare industry.
